This is the new garden bed....
Look the peas are starting to hold onto the frame work...... can't wait for them to grow... not sure how many will make it to the pot as we love to eat them fresh and raw....
Our snow pea has started to get peas on it......
Something besides us has a liking for them as well... this was supposed to be two rows of snow peas and as you can see the first and last plant in each row has survived..... there are some smaller ones coming up as hubby had to replant... but something ate them off as they popped their little heads out of the soil.... he has covered the ground with mulch to try and give them a head start... it seems to be working.....
We have pulled out the fruitless pumpkin vine and hubby is preparing the ground for a new bed..... what will he plant......?????
This is how a lot of our plants start off..... he loves to grow them from seeds... He is in the Digger's Garden club and they offer a wide range of heritage heirloom seeds.....
Next summer these will be a crop of onions and garlic....
These are some geranium cuttings I got from retreat at Mt Alford Lodge... and yes I did ask permission to take them.... LOL so before too long I will have some more glorious geraniums growing.....
Remember our water tank we put in a little while back... well hubby now has a herb garden growing around the base of the tank......
Don't you love the little rock wall edge he is building around it...????
This part has just been finished... well almost finished..... see the little round hole in the ground with stuff in it... that is an in ground worm farm.... the two pots sitting on top of the ground...you can see the holes drilled in the side and these will be put in on the other side of the old wheel barrow..... we saw this idea on Costa's gardening show on SBS.... how cool is that...?????
This idea is starting to look terrific... we are so pleased with how it is evolving... I say we... but actually I have very little to do with it.... I do try..... but I hate getting dirt under my fingernails... and if I break one... then all hell breaks loose... LOL
This morning I shared the back yard with these two visitors... there were heaps more as we feed them..... but the rest flew away... just these two stayed.....
Have fun....
Ohhh LOVE the garden and cant wait to get some fresh vegies from it. I think the spare vegie patch that has nothing in it should have corn and strawberries planted in it!! Great job to dad!! Will definitly try to get down one weekend to check it out.
